This is a beast of ancient origins. Once a mighty sea dweller, he became land locked hundreds of years ago due to his own greed and arrogance.
The Totem Diver was drawn to his giant lake prison because of the abundance of totem poles that had been thrown to the bottom ages ago as a result of a horrible war. They used to be a source of food for this creature, but now they stand swaying with the currents like watery tombstones, and he as their silent protector.
After so many years of solitude Totem may never accept another sentient sea beast for companionship, yet has become so accustomed to his life that he fears leaving the lake.. that is, if he could get up the steep rocky walls surrounding him.

For now, he's content (sort of) with his little buddy Tito, two odd landlocked sea monsters learning to grow together!

The Totem Diver
This tiny little jelly pebble, only shortly after finding his land-legs, wandered onto shore one dark night and became hopelessly lost. With his cries to the sea ever fading with each tree he passed, Tito had lost all hope of finding home. Horribly thirsty and tired, just as he go to rest his weary head, the ground below him gave way and he slid down the rocky craterside and right into the Totem Lake.
He woke up the next morning to a pair of giant angry eyes, and from that moment on little Tito has been the little brother to the archaic Totem, whether he approves of it or not.
Tito's cheery demeanor tends to infuriate Totem, but how can anyone resist those big bubbly eyes and stumpy legs? He's cute now, but Totem knows Tito will eventually grow up and be a big male Barasva in his ever shrinking lake...
Tito (male) is a young Barasva, species and design by Corvikin on DA specifically as a buddy for Totem.

AU Tito spends his days being a loveable sea baby out in the ocean with the rest of his kind! Generally seen getting bullied by his buddy Gin (owned by Toucat) and occssionally swimming down far enough, they both bother my Flotsom!

Tito is the happiest little pebble!
